Italian American Baseball Foundation

Charity Overview

The Italian American Baseball Foundation is a non-profit that helps grow baseball and softball in Italy while honouring the pastime in America for Italian Americans.

Founded in 2016, IABF provides opportunities for youth development through education. The core functions of the foundation are to build a pipeline of baseball and softball players from Italy to the United States through college scholarships and showcases, support the Italian National Teams as American partners, and promote heritage and pride for Italian Americans in baseball from high school to the Major League levels.

Project Summary

ICAP Chairty Day funds were used to support the IABF Scholarship program which awards college baseball and softball scholarships to Italian natives and Italian American students each year. The goal is to honour graduating high school seniors or current college baseball and softball players. An IABF scholarship committee selects the winners each year. The scholarships are open to Americans and international students from Italy.

At the core of our mission is to help grow the game of baseball, and there is no better way than honouring the next generation of great Italians and Italian Americans. Our IABF Scholarship program is a very special part of what we do and to see these young adults accept the honour at our gala every year really opens a lot of eyes about why we fundraise.
Joe Quagliano, President and Co-Founder of IABF.

Current and past IABF Scholarship recipients have played at schools in more than 10 U.S. states, ranging from Division I to junior college. Educational opportunity through baseball and Italian heritage is at the forefront of our IABF mission.

This is bigger than just a non-profit; it’s about education, opportunity, and a cross-cultural exchange between Italy and the United States.
