The Stroke Association’s Life After Stroke Awards celebrates the outstanding achievements of everyone affected by stroke, their families, carers and support services. ICAP have been recognised as Corporate Supporter of the Year for funding a three-year project to develop the UK’s first dedicated service for child stroke survivors and their families.
Project Summary
The Stroke Association is dedicated to the fight against stroke and the aftercare that patients receive. Every year in the UK 150,000 people experience a stroke. Stroke is the third biggest killer in the country and the largest cause of adult disability. The Stroke Association is the only stroke charity working across the UK to change the lives of stroke survivors, making sure they make the best recovery they can, enabling them to walk and talk again, and get their lives back. The charity aims to raise awareness of stroke and stroke prevention, investing in vital research and running over 400 services for stroke survivors.
