Funding from ICAP Charity Day will support costs for Life Flight’s Air Ambulance planes. With Life Flight now operating from a second base in Hamilton, alongside its original base, the Charitable Trust has seen a significant increase in the demand for its services throughout the country.

Charity Overview

Life Flight is a Charitable Trust providing life-saving air ambulance and rescue services, launched in 1975. Every day, they provide critical air ambulance and rescue helicopter services - free of charge to those in need. Operating a fleet of five - soon to be six - Air Ambulance Planes, along with the Wellington-based Westpac Rescue Helicopter, Life Flight responds to an emergency on average every five hours - 24/7, 365 days a year. This includes life-threatening emergencies such as cardiac arrests, strokes, traumatic injuries, premature births, and the urgent transfer of critically ill children.
