Charity Overview

Since 1994 the National Centre for Childhood Grief (NCCG) has provided free specialist care for bereaved children aged 3-17 and their parents/carers after the death of a parent, sibling or other close loved one. We provide counselling, group programmes, camps and community services for free to 500+ bereaved children and 250+ parents/carers each year.

The death of a close family member is deeply traumatic. Our specialist team works to minimise mental health challenges, loss of education/work and family breakdown caused by this significant bereavement, through helping families understand their grief, build their sense of security, coping skills and resilience.
