Funding from ICAP Charity Day helps supports the Extraordinary Music Company (EMC), an initiative by Extra Ordinary People that empowers youths with special needs through inclusive music programmes. Funding will help expand EMC's reach, providing quality music education, building self-confidence, fostering social integration, and enabling access for participants from low-income families.

Charity Overview

Extra Ordinary People is a non-profit charity established in 2017, holding Institute of Public Character status in Singapore. It is committed to promoting inclusivity and assisting individuals with special needs through community-supported initiatives. Programmes cater to individuals with a variety of special needs, including Intellectual Disabilities, Down Syndrome and Autism. The charity's primary focus is to assist post-18 youths with special needs in developing work skills and achieving independence. This addresses the "cliff effect," a decline in service provision after formal education ends. It also actively engages with companies interested in learning more and providing opportunities for our beneficiaries.
