ReForest Now was created by an unabated passion to see large-scale reforestation/regeneration of Australian rainforests. Their diverse, strong team are working with partners and individuals around the world to see immediate and effective restoration of a critically endangered ecosystem.
The Big Scrub rainforest once covered 75,000 hectares of northern NSW - thick with trees, shrubs, ferns and vines. It was an unbroken and almost impenetrable forest. By 1900, <1% of this unique ecosystem remained due to clearing by early settlers. ReForest Now grows and plants over 100 species (prioritising the endangered) to reforest cleared land back into complex, biodiverse rainforest.
