Every night across Australia over 56,000 women are homeless and more than one in two women who seek a bed in a crisis shelter are turned away. All funds received from ICAP Charity Day will help WCS continue their vital work, assisting vulnerable women and children in need.

Charity Overview

Women's Community Shelters (WCS) is an Australian charity working with local communities to set up emergency crisis accommodation shelters for women and children experiencing homelessness or domestic and family violence.

WCS are working to expand their network to at least nine shelters across NSW, and have developed a host of complementary programs to support women and children after crisis, including transitional housing and outreach programs, child support, employment, education and training and ther ‘Walk the Talk’ early intervention and prevention education program.

WCS aim to build an Australia where women and their children are safe, secure, supported and equal.
