Rapid response cars are crucial to the London’s Air Ambulance’s (LAA) service, enabling the charity’s advanced-trauma teams to operate at night, in adverse weather conditions, if the helicopter has a maintenance issue or as back up in major incidents. In 2015, the cars were used by LAA’s medical teams in 65% of all patient missions. A donation from ICAP will fund London’s Air Ambulance fleet of rapid response cars for the next three years.

London’s Air Ambulance is a registered charity which delivers an advanced trauma team to critically injured people across London’s 32 boroughs. London’s Air Ambulance is the only service providing doctor-led pre-hospital advanced trauma care to the 10 million people who live, work and commute within London’s M25, and has treated over 34,000 patients since inception in 1989. London’s Air Ambulance operates 24/7, with a helicopter attending emergencies in daylight hours, and rapid response cars taking over at night or in adverse weather conditions. The charity’s pioneering clinical procedures have been adopted throughout the UK and all around the world.
