Charity Overview
Communication is one of the largest issues facing children today. Half of the children from deprived areas in the UK start school considerably behind in their language skills. Three children in every class have a communication need that requires long-term help. I CAN, is at the forefront of supporting children with communication needs.
The charity has two specialist schools in Nottinghamshire and Surrey for children aged 4-19 years old, with the most severe communication needs. I CAN’s free enquiry service offers direct help for parents concerned with their child’s communication development. The charity also work directly with the people who educate, care for, support and advise children and families, to help children who have delayed language development.
