The ICAP Fruit Tree Initiative – From the Ground Up! engages and educates 15,000 schoolchildren in the natural outdoor classroom. They plant, nurture and care for fruit trees, and by seeing their trees flourish and produce a ‘pickable’ fruit snack, they develop a life-long relationship with nature and healthy eating.

The Conservation Volunteers (TCV) connects people and green spaces to deliver lasting outcomes for both.

Whether improving wellbeing, conserving a well-loved outdoor space or bringing people together to promote social cohesion, combat loneliness or enhance employment prospects, TCV works with communities to deliver practical solutions to the real-life challenges they face.

For over sixty years they have adapted their work with volunteers to reflect the changing needs of communities in the UK and, by giving people a sense of purpose and belonging, they have empowered them to take control of their lives and outdoor spaces for the benefit of all.
