With ICAP's support, Home-Start UK will recruit and train specialist volunteers who will work closely with parents who have been the victims of domestic violence. They will provide one-to-one support to children who have witnessed abuse. Seeing or hearing abuse impacts hugely on young children, their future relationships and safety.

Home-Start is one of the leading family support charities in the UK, helping over 30,000 fragile families and more than 60,000 vulnerable children every year.

They recruit and train specialist volunteers, who have parenting experience themselves, to visit struggling families in their own homes. All of Home-Start's volunteers work with families who are facing issues such as domestic violence, isolation, mental health issues, bereavement and more. Working at the heart of the family, for the benefit of the child, for as long as it takes to help that family be strong again. No other agency offers the same support.
