Make-A-Wish Australia grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich their lives with hope, strength and joy. It takes more than medicine alone to help a seriously-ill child, an international study has found that Make-A-Wish wishes are crucial to making a life-changing difference to seriously-ill children and their families. Wishes provide children and their families with a welcomed distraction and the anticipation of a wish helps children to develop meaningful coping mechanisms in the face of their condition and gruelling treatment. Make-A-Wish has granted over 7,300 wishes for children and is the premier wish-granting organisation in Australia.
